Training

Training and Information Literacy
The Training Department promotes information literacy (IL) to HSC faculty, staff, students and other healthcare professionals by incorporating instruction, consultation, training sessions, guided tours and orientation programs on HSCLA resources that are specially designed to teach the concepts and skills that are essential to the needs of the HSC medical community to enable them to use the library resources effectively and to become sufficient lifelong learners. Services include course-related bibliographic and full-text group instruction as well as one-to-one instruction on accessing online information, the Online Catalog, eBooks, Databases, Online Journals and access to the World Wide Web in addition to other electronic resources. Librarians develop user guides, video tutorials and other useful material that support learning on library resources.
